我只是利用平常空閒的時間，隨性地起了個念頭：想把琵琶湖走完一趟。沒有嚴謹的訓練計畫，也不趕進度，就這樣把徒步環湖拆成一段一段，預計花上一整年的時間慢慢走完。 琵琶湖位於日本滋賀縣，是日本面積最大的淡水湖，湖水面積約669平方公里，湖岸線全長約235公里。它同時也是全球僅存約二十座「古代湖」之一，推估形成於約四百萬年前，是一座比人類歷史還要古老得多的湖泊。 這一部影片記錄的是徒步計畫中的湖西岸段落，沿途經過近江神宮、三井寺，以及琵琶湖疏水一帶。這也是我睽違十三年後再度造訪近江神宮——上一次來，還是因為《花牌情緣》而踏上的朝聖之旅。十三年後故地重遊，心境自然多了幾分不同的感觸。 沒有特別厲害的裝備，也沒有非走完不可的壓力，純粹就是走到哪、看到哪，把沿途遇見的神社、寺院、水道與風景，一段一段收進鏡頭裡。這是「社寺城路」系列的第二十一集，也是這趟為期一年、慢慢環湖徒步計畫中的其中一段。 ───────────────── This all started with nothing more than some free time and a casual idea: I simply wanted to walk the whole way around Lake Biwa. There was no strict training plan, no deadline to chase — I just broke the route into manageable stages and decided to take a full year to slowly work my way around, one segment at a time. Lake Biwa sits in Shiga Prefecture and is Japan’s largest freshwater lake, covering roughly 669 square kilometers with a shoreline stretching about 235 kilometers. It’s also one of only around twenty “ancient lakes” left on Earth, believed to have formed roughly four million years ago — a body of water far older than any human history that has unfolded along its shores. This particular video covers the western shore section of the walk, passing through Omi Jingu Shrine, Mii-dera Temple, and the Lake Biwa Canal. It also happens to mark my first return to Omi Jingu in thirteen years — the last time I visited was as part of a Chihayafuru pilgrimage. Coming back after all this time naturally brought a different set of feelings than before. There’s no fancy gear involved and no pressure to finish on any particular schedule. I simply walk wherever the path leads, taking in the shrines, temples, waterways, and scenery along the way, one frame at a time. This is episode 21 of the “Shrine, Temple, Castle Road” series — just one part of a year-long, unhurried journey to walk the entire way around the lake. ───────────────── きっかけは、ちょっとした空き時間と「琵琶湖を一周歩いてみたい」というふとした思いつきでした。厳しいトレーニング計画もなければ、期限に追われることもなく、ただ区間ごとに少しずつ分けて、一年ほどかけてゆっくり歩き切ろうと決めただけです。 琵琶湖は滋賀県にある日本最大の淡水湖で、面積は約669平方キロメートル、湖岸線の長さは約235キロメートルにおよびます。また、世界に約20しか残っていない「古代湖」のひとつでもあり、形成されたのはおよそ400万年前と考えられています。人の歴史よりもはるかに長い時間、この場所に在り続けてきた湖です。 今回の動画は、この徒歩計画のうち湖西岸の区間を記録したもので、近江神宮、三井寺、そして琵琶湖疏水沿いを歩いています。実はこの近江神宮、十三年ぶりの再訪でもありました。前回訪れたのは『ちはやふる』の聖地巡礼がきっかけで、十三年という歳月を経て再び足を運ぶと、当時とはまた違う感慨がありました。 特別な装備があるわけでも、無理に完歩を急ぐわけでもなく、ただ道なりに歩きながら、途中で出会う神社やお寺、水路や風景を、その都度カメラに収めています。これは「社寺城路」シリーズの第21回であり、一年かけてゆっくり湖を一周する徒歩計画の、そのひとつの記録です。
